How TIPCO teams turn a September spotlight into safer practices all year long
A hose assembly may be only one part of a larger operation, but it plays an important role in protecting people, equipment, and productivity. That is why TIPCO Technologies is proud to join NAHAD, The Association for Hose and Accessories Distribution, in recognizing Hose Safety Awareness Month each September. The month gives manufacturers, distributors, and end users a chance to slow down, take a closer look at their hose programs, and reinforce the habits that make every workday safer.

Hose Safety Across America
Across TIPCO’s 45-plus locations, our teams helped bring that message to life. They revisited the basics of hose selection, inspection, assembly, testing, handling, and replacement. They shared safety reminders, took part in training, and kept the conversation going with customers and coworkers from coast to coast. For us, safety is not the responsibility of one person or one department. It is part of how we work.

A Year-Round Commitment
Hose Safety Awareness Month is an important reminder, but our commitment does not end when September does. Safety shapes how our teams learn, fabricate assemblies, serve customers, and solve problems every day. TIPCO participates in NAHAD’s Hose Safety Institute and Hose Standards Committee. Our assembly and sales teams also receive training based on Hose Safety Institute guidelines for industrial, hydraulic, and PTFE hose assemblies. Manufacturer and application-specific education adds another layer of practical knowledge that our teams can bring to each customer and every job.
Every Step Matters
- Start with the application. Think through size, temperature, application, material or media, pressure, ends, and delivery. Together, these factors make up the STAMPED framework.
- Build and test with care. Quality starts with the right components, trained fabrication, appropriate testing, and clear documentation.
- Install it correctly. Proper routing, bend radius, connections, and protection can reduce unnecessary stress and early wear.
- Make inspection a habit. Watch for abrasion, cracking, corrosion, leaks, damaged fittings, exposed reinforcement, and other warning signs.
- Replace it before it fails. If a hose is damaged or has been used beyond its expected service conditions, remove it from service promptly.

Keeping Safety in Motion
NAHAD’s Hose Safety Awareness Month gives our industry a valuable opportunity to pause, learn, and recommit to the practices that protect people and keep operations moving. TIPCO is proud to be part of that effort, and we are just as proud to carry the same focus into every month of the year.
