TIPCO Spotlight: American Biltrite
American Biltrite was founded in 1908 by Miah Marcus and Frank Bernstein in Trenton, NJ. In 1913, the company expanded into Canada and purchased a plant
in Sherbrooke, Québec , Canada. American Biltrite’s first products to be produced in Sherbrooke were rubber soles and heels, which were a huge contribution
to the footwear industry in that era. Today, American Biltrite still produces some footwear components, but their larger focuses are, manufacturing
industrial sheet rubber, commercial and residential flooring, and mudflaps. Most recently, they have added silicone sheet rubber to their product line,
which is used mostly as a gasket material. Silicone is well known for its resistance to extreme temperatures.
TIPCO has maintained a strong partnership with American Biltrite since 1988. Specifically, TIPCO distributes American Biltrite’s line of premium sheet rubber in varying gauges and widths. American Biltrite also offers other specialty products such as DURASHIELD®natural rubber, GUARD-RITE™rubber linings, TRANSEAL®premium nitrile, Atlas Bearing Pads™, NSF-ANSI 61 Certified EPDM, Mil-Specs, and BLAST®ballistic rubber! The companies have maintained their relationship through the years by sharing alot of common ground. Both started as small family-owned businesses, and both prioritize the same things.Glenn Orn, Regional Sales Manager for American Biltrite points out,
“Our partnership was a natural fit because we share two very important priorities: customer satisfaction and quality.”
TIPCO’s friends at American Biltrite emphasize the importance of experience and the product knowledgeof the TIPCO sales force. Orn added,
“They are very well organized, and always eager to learn more about our products. They put a lot of focus on training & education, making them experts in their field!”
American Biltrite plans to continue to strengthen their partnership with TIPCO by continuing to help train their sales force, ensuring that they are up to date on all of American-Biltrite’s sheet rubber products.
